How about today we introduce you to Coach Kelsey. Here's a quick look at this great lady!

We asked her the following 12 questions.

1.     What is your Favorite WOD?


2.     What is your least Favorite WOD?


3.     If you could be a superhero who would it be and why?

Honestly, I don’t know any of the superheroes (lame, I know) so I had to ask my students to tell me theirs. After they each reasoned their favorite, I have decided that I would like to be the Flash because he can travel really fast, go back in time, and stop time.

4.     Kill Cliff, Fit Aid, or I just drink whatever I can do recover?

I like to drink BCAAs with my water while working out and then Fit Aid afterward.

5.     Why did you want to become a CrossFit Coach?

I wanted to combine my love for teaching and working out.

6.     Biggest accomplishment as a CrossFit athlete to this date?

Toes-to-bar.. I was able to kick and swing my feet up to the bar pretty quick which technically counts as a rep. It took me a little while to learn how to activate my lats and core to complete toes-to-bar in a faster, more efficient manner. 

7.     Most humbling point of your CrossFit journey as of today?

Becoming a CrossFit coach. I was still somewhat new to CrossFit and knew I couldn’t complete some movements as well or as heavy as others. 

8.     What is a surprising talent most people don’t know about you?

I don’t think I have one.

9.     Reebok, Nike or I just like to buy shoes? And then the best pair of shoes you have owned and why. 

I like Reebok for shoes. My favorite is probably the nano 5’s since they were my first pair of CrossFit shoes.

10.  Fav cheat meal food. 

My favorite cheat MEAL would be NY pizza or desserts.. I love sweets.

11.  Paleo, Zone, or I just eat what is put in front of me?

I try to make healthier choices when I meal prep but I don’t stick to paleo or zone. Sometimes my meals are paleo but I’m not consistent.

12.  If you could go back to the start of your CrossFit journey what would you tell yourself?

I still have to tell myself this all the time but it would be to stop comparing yourself to everyone else. There are good days and bad days. Just keep putting in the effort in every class and you will start to see the progress.

Rest/Active Recovery Day


-Do 10 minutes of active warmup; Inchworm, wall walks, double under work, 200-400m run

-Do Crossover Symmetry for 15 minutes.

-Pick a skill and work on it for 15 minutes. 

*Double unders and Gymnastic work are highly recommended in preparation for the open.

-Do mobility for 15 minutes: 5 minutes light rowing/bike, 5 minutes of foam rolling, and 5 minutes of band work. 

*if you just completed the 55 minute cycle this is a active recovery day.
