I struggle here today to find the words to place the performance of one man into context, to give perspective, to serve justice unto the event and not over dramatize, over speak, overwrite the events that happened on one Sunday afternoon in Colorado. It was just exercise, after all. One man picked up weight and put it down. He threw a ball in the air and caught it. He pulled himself up on the rings. Read more here…

  1. Dave says:

Excellent blog post about a phenomenal guy…

  2. Lauren says:

Great article…I can’t wait to be Chris Spealer.

  3. Lauren says:

I’m so excited for the 4:00 and 5:00 classes–come watch the pregnant lady run. Just kidding. I don’t run.

  4. Jane says:

I hope to get to 5:00! if not, 5:45.

  5. Sarah says:

I would LOVE to come see Lauren run but I’ll be doing this workout alone tonight at AFF. Hey guys, I figured out if you add jogging down and back in the parking lot in between building and the road, each lap is a true 400m.

  6. Jane says:

At the risk of showing my age, when I arrived late tonight I felt like I was entering the Cheers Bar and everyone was Norm…I was met with a “Jane!” And it was cool. I wish I could spend more time at the box and outside the box with folks, but it is soooo nice to feel welcomed and as if “everybody knows your name”. Good stuff.
9:36 with 42 lbs OHS and the “traditional” 400m.

    • Lauren says:

JANE! I feel lucky to know your name–and you. After my retirement from teaching, I plan to spend much more time with people who “know my name.” We’ll have to have more parties and get-togethers and coffee dates.

Great job to the 4:00 and 5:00 class, I was very proud of all of you for trying to beat the clock! I did get through the OHS but I didn’t run, that seems to be the most exhausting movement in the world right-about-now.

OHS are such a difficult and important movement, I was happy to see great form yesterday. No one got hung up on weight and focused on their technique, great job!!
