Monday – We pay for this?! Hell yes we do!!

This weekend at SuperFit Charlottesville our last workout of day one (# 3, so fatigue was setting in) was a 7 min amrap of 5 squat cleans and 15 toes to bar.. outside… in the cold and it decided to start snowing. Since the first two heats of boys decided to start breaking the track we then had to do the lifts off of the field causing most competitors to squat clean with a 4 inch deficit. When I heard athletes coming in complaining of being unable to feel their hands I couldn’t help but ask WHY DO I PAY FOR THIS? THIS IS GOING TO BE MISERABLE!!

After spending a long amount of time complaining I realized that I pay for these competitions for this reason. I do CrossFit to prove that I am physically fit UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. As CrossFitters we like to say that we “are ready for anything” and this weekend I felt I truly had to prove that. Between hand stand push ups, rowing, dealing with the cold, olympic weightlifting and wall balls.. to name a few things that we did I was so proud to be part of this wonderful community of people. Not every workout will be “tailored” to you and you don’t want it to be – you would get bored! Plus, try to find something more fun, I dare you.

When you decide to join a CrossFit gym you are making a commitment to yourself and the CrossFit community, a commitment to live a better, happier and healthier lifestyle. When you walk through those doors at RARE be ready to challenge yourself, that is what you’re there to do. And as much as we complain, I think we all agree that this picture truly sums up how we feel.
