Friday – Goals!

I’ve found that it’s helpful to set goals for myself within every workout.

For example: With Monday’s workout..

5 rounds of

200m row

20 x sit ups

20 x double unders

20 x jumping lunges

My goals were: Keep the row under 1:50/500m and do all of the double unders unbroken.

By setting these miniature goals for workouts I’ve accomplished many of my big picture goals because I am forced to push myself even farther. This is just another way to take your workout to the next level. After all, it’s up to you to know if you’re really pushing yourself to the limit in your workout. Try it with the workout for today, or Saturday (which I really recommend you all come to, Saturday’s are usually my favorite day at the box). If you begin setting an inner-WOD goal every day I would bet 100 burpees, that within that very workout you will find yourself saying “Holy shit, that was HARD.”

Friday’s Workout

Front Squat

3, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1

-then-

AMRAP in 10 minutes

10 x Front Squat (75/55)

10 x Pullups

10 x Burpees

    Hey y’all….Just spent some time looking around the website and found the kid rules. Sorry that we have been breaking a few of them… so if you don’t want to be a jerk like me, parents go here: http://rarecrossfit.com/kids-area-rules. I have brought juice boxes… I’m Soooo SORRY!!! And I brought Molly (who had strep) yesterday BUT she had been on antibiotics for 24 hours so she wasn’t acting sick or was contagious. I’ll be a better patron of the kidz area! :)

    I sent out a Facebook invite but know there are some folks like AL ELKINS that are not on Facebook or that I am not friends with so….

    Come on out to the Quarry Thanksgiving morning for a nice and relaxed trail run. Plan on running a 10k, but honestly you can run / walk / jog any distance you like, but I have a nice run planned (route to follow).

    Plan on meeting at the small gravel VOC parking lot (let me know if you need directions) and be ready to run around 0800 (subject to change based on popular opinion).

    Since my list of Facebook friends is limited, please extend this invite to anyone interested, even if they do not consider themselves runners or trail runners, oh and someone please tell Al “I’m not on Facebook” Elkins….
