Thank you for taking the time to read about me. Those that know me, know I’d rather hear about you, listen to you and engage in conversation with you; for YOU are the reason I’m here talking about myself. While I’ve been and lived in many places (just ask me), done many, many cool things (just ask me), and had more than a few careers (just ask me), nothing compares to earning a spot on the floor as a CF Coach/Trainer at RARE.
For me, the passion I have for Crossfit has been…well… life changing. It’s about the Athletes desire to move better, feel better, look better, walk taller, and WIN in all areas of their life outside the box. Nothing is given on the floor. Hard work on the floor and in the kitchen transitions to real life success. Crossift challenges one’s integrity and self-discipline. Yes, this modality changed my life.

I discovered Crossfit while deployed in 2009 and wanted no part of it. I liked the Globo Gym big weight push/pull exercises. Then I woke up one day and the scale measured under a spring loaded tension of 273#. Big weight with poor nutrition had catapulted me into a life with cardiac risk factors off the chart and a 42inch waist. BTW, the #1 killer of Firefighters is not Fire, its Cardiac Disease. I walked into my first box in 2012 and have not looked back.

My personal aim/mission statement to you as a RARE Coach is to utilize every minute you have in the gym. Whether you have 20 minutes or 90, if you don’t have a plan, I’ll have one for you.
From next level progressions to a 21-15-9. I will make every minute count while discussing nutrition, improving movement quality, mobility and functionality to be used in everyday life. I want all our RARE Athletes to feel good about themselves on the outside, be happy with themselves on the inside and be mentally fit to fight whatever unexpected challenge arises outside the box.
Lastly, I drive past a few other boxes to be at RARE as a member athlete and a coach. The coaching and community family is the RARE focus. I believe, high level coaching + tight knit community= life-long results. We are fortunate to have a staff that is genuine with their belief. I grow daily on the floor as an athlete, I grow daily on the floor as a coach and I grow daily getting to know each of you. For that I’m forever grateful.
My passion is to share my enthusiasm for a healthy and fulfilling life with as many people as possible!
My favorite WOD is DT and Karen is a day I’d skip school for!
